Huang Hui chairs “Revision of Maritime Law and Frontier Issues concerning Insurance Law” seminar

The Maritime Law Committee and the Insurance Law Committee of Guangzhou Lawyers Association jointly invited Professor Guo Ping, executive director of the International Maritime Law Research Base of the Supreme People’s Court to deliver a lecture entitled “Revision of Maritime Law and Frontier Issues concerning Insurance Law: a talk started with the growth of the cruise industry under the “Belt and Road” Initiative at Beijing (Dacheng) Law Firm on 21st September.


The seminar was chaired by Mr. Huang hui, deputy director of the Maritime Law Committee and a senior partner of Huang & Huang Co. Law Firm and Mr. Quan Chaohui, director of the Insurance Law Committee. About 60 people were in attendance, including Mr. Fang Kaibo - Director of the Business Department of the Insurance Institute of Guangdong Province, Mr. Ren Yanbing - chief secretary of the Maritime Law Committee, Ms. Yu Yi Ai- chief secretary of the Insurance Law Committee and representatives from colleges and universities, insurance and shipping businesses.


The lecture was mainly focused on a review of the history and development of China’s maritime law, the overall progress of the research on revision of China’s maritime law led by the Ministry of Transport of the PRC, revision of marine insurance law, an analysis of legal relationships in the cruise industry and the viability of inclusion of cruise ship contract into the scope of regulation by the Maritime Law.
