On 21 September 2020, Hainan International Arbitration Court (HIAC) published an announcement on the appointment of 972 Chinese and foreign professionals as its arbitrators, which was approved by the First Board of Directors of HIAC at its first meeting. The new Panel of Arbitrators will be officially put into use as of 1 October 2020.

Our director Mr. Huang Hui is honored to be appointed to serve as an arbitrator at HIAC.

Hainan International Arbitration Court (Hainan Arbitration Commission), which was established by the Government of Hainan Province on 21 May 1996, is the only arbitration institution in the province for civil and commercial disputes, and the only provincial-level arbitration institution in China other than those in the four municipalities directly under the Central Government.

HIAC has seen a steady growth in case load and value year by year in the past years. In 2016, the aggregate value of disputes entertained by HIAC surpassed RMB 10.7 billion. In May 2019, HIAC was awarded one of the Top 10 National Arbitration Institutions and Top 10 International Arbitration Institutions in China in the second session of China’s Arbitration Credibility Assessment.

Hainan Free Trade Port is also known as “a special zone within a special zone”. With the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port as a major national strategy, HIAC is set to become an increasingly important international center for dispute resolution.
