In March 2006, after the 18 containers of cargo carried by M. V. “Ever Ursula” arrived at the Port of Vaesteraas, Sweden from Yantian Port and were delivered to the consignee, the domestic shipper filed litigation against the carrier before Guangzhou Maritime Court by reason of delivery of goods without presentation of B/Ls, the claim amounts over USD500, 000.

Entrusted by one of the defendants, an internationally known shipping company, lawyers Mr. Huang Hui and Ms. Zhang Jing filed valid defenses against the litigation requests of the plaintiff on the basis of ample understanding of the case situation and proper appliance of advantageous stipulations and provisions of law, went through the litigation procedures of objection to jurisdiction, application for investigation on evidence, postponement of evidence submission and court hearing, and finally obtained a good litigation result that the court adjudged rejection of the plaintiff’s litigation requests against our appointer. Another defendant of this case reached a settlement agreement with the plaintiff after the decision of first instance was made, agreeing to pay the compensation of around USD 360,000 to the shipper.
