 ■ Representation of the insurers of M/V “ZHONG XING 2” in the various claims and counterclaims (subject value: CNY101,060,000.00) ensuing from a deadly collision with M/V “MOL MOTIVATOR” which resulted in the sinking of M/V “ZHONG XING 2” and took the life of 11 crew members.

■ Representation (appointed by P&I Club and Hull Underwriter) of the owner of MT “Archangelos Gabriel” which ran aground with a cargo of 70,000MT of crude oil onboard, in defending the resultant claims (subject value: CNY 64,000,000.00) respectively brought by Zhanjiang MSA of PRC for salvage reward, the owner of the tanker “Dan Chi” seeking compensation for lightering services and Nanhai Rescue Bureau for tug services.

■ Representation (appointed by P&I Club) of the owner of MV “Maersk Darlington” in an action brought by the People’s Liberation Army of the People’s Republic of China seeking compensation in the amount of CNY 56,523,443.54 for damage to their submarine optical fiber cable allegedly caused by a dragging anchor of the vessel.

■ Representation (appointed by P&I Club) of the owner of MV “Heng Shan” in defending the subrogation claim brought by the cargo insurer AIG seeking damages in the amount of CNY 3,400,000 for loss of cargo due to a fire broke out onboard; obtained a final and unappealable judgment finding the owner of MV “Heng Shan” not liable.

■ Representation (appointed by P&I Club) of the owner of M/V “Hoang Son South” which struck and damaged two berths at Zhanjiang Port, in defending the claim in the amount of CNY8,000,000.00 brought by the berths’ owner Zhanjiang Port Group Co., Ltd.

■ Representation (appointed by P&I Club) of the owner of MV “Dong Qing Hai” in defending a shortage claim brought by the cargo insurer; obtained a final and unappealable judgment finding the vessel owners not liable, by proving that the shortage was due to the discharge into ballast tankers of the water sprayed on the sulphur cargo at loading port to mitigate dispersal.

■ Representation (appointed by P&I Club) of the owner of MV “Eastern Jade” in defending the claim brought by the cargo consignee seeking damages in the amount of USD2,500,000 for damage to the Riser Buoyancy Modules cargo; Obtained a settlement for USD 1,500,000 only, although the vessel’s own surveyor had assessed the claimant’s loss to be nearly USD 2,000,000.

■ Representation (appointed by P&I Club) of the owner of MV “Uni Patriot” in defending the claim brought by the shipper for full value of the cargo in sum of CNY 4,000,000 for delivery of goods without production of original Bs/L; obtained a judgment finding the owner of MV “Uni Patriot” not liable.
