Ship contacted with Zhanjiang Port

On 21st November 2002, a vessel contacted the jetty 402, No. 1 District of Zhanjiang Port while calling at the berth and caused partial damage to the jetty. Zhanjiang Port Group Corporation Limited brought claim on expenses of repairing the jetty and loss of earning (operation) before Guangzhou Maritime Court, requiring the owner of the vessel to pay a compensation of RMB 4,180,000. Our Mr. Huang Yaquan & Mr. Huang Hui handled this case on behalf of the ship owner and its P&I Club, and finally closed the case with payment of RMB 1.3 million to the plaintiff through negotiation, which greatly reduced the client’s loss. |
