Five Huang & Huang lawyers selected into GLA’s first Talent Pool of Leading Lawyers in Foreign-related Matters

We are delighted to share that five lawyers from Huang & Huang, namely our managing partner Huang Hui, senior partner Huang Yaquan, associates Chen Xiaoling, Zhang Fan and Lu Qiuxuan, have been selected by Guangzhou Lawyer Association into its first “Talent Pool of Leading Lawyers in Foreign-related Matters” announced in April 2022, which is aimed to actively promote the construction of “One Belt, One Road” and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, thoroughly implement the Opinions on the Development of Foreign-related Legal Services issued by the requirements of the Ministry of Justice and other documents, and meet the demand for foreign-related legal service talents to support the external development of Guangzhou’s economy.

Huang Hui

Huang Yaquan
 
With over 30 years of full time practice specialising in maritime and insurance law, Huang Yaquan has handled a variety of most influential maritime cases announced by The Supreme People’s Court. He has extensive experience in advising P&I clubs and shipowners on shipping disputes and insurance-related matters. He was awarded the “30 Years Contribution Award” by Guangzhou Lawyers Association in 2018 and has been consecutively recognised by Chambers and Partners as Senior Statespeople and Leading Lawyer in shipping.
 


Zhang Fan
 
LLM in international law from Shanghai Maritime University. Zhang Fan handles predominantly disputes related to ship ownership, cargo claims, ship chartering, collision, oil pollution at sea, insurance, logistics transportation, financing and corporate contracts. She was co-lead counsel in maritime cases selected into Top 10 Typical Cases of the Year by Guangzhou Maritime Court. Before joining Huang & Huang in 2017, she worked for a large state-owned port group, engaged in port cargo source development and route development.
 
Zhang Fan is secretary general of Maritime and Aviation Law Committee of Guangzhou Lawyers Association, mediator at the Mediation Center of Guangzhou Lawyer Association and a member of the Reserve Talent Pool of Leading Lawyers in Foreign-related Matters of Guangdong Lawyer Association. She was awarded the honorary title of “Outstanding Committee Member of The Year” in 2020.  
 


Chen Xiaoling
 
LLM in international law from Shanghai Maritime University. Chen Xiaoling joined Huang & Huang in 2016. She specialises in marine insurance subrogation claims, marine cargo claims, charter party disputes, ship collisions, and other shipping litigation and non-litigation affairs. She was co-lead counsel in several  extraordinarily large shipping matters with a total value reaching up to hundreds of millions of dollars. She won the Annual Achievement Award by Guangzhou Lawyer Association in 2020 and was co-lead counsel in one of the Top 10 Typical Maritime Cases of the Year 2021 selected by Guangzhou Maritime Court.
 
She is council member of Guangdong Maritime Law Research Institute, member of Maritime and Aviation Law Committee of Guangzhou Lawyers Association,  mediator at Guangzhou Maritime Court and the Mediation Office of Guangzhou Justice Bureau, and member of the Reserve Talent Pool of Leading Lawyers in Foreign-related Matters of Guangdong Lawyer Association.
 


Lu Qiuxuan
 
LL.M in maritime law from University of Southampton. She has rich experience in handling commercial and corporate legal affairs, including land disputes and corporate bankruptcy cases. After joining Huang & Huang, she handles predominantly cargo claims, salvage, general average, collision, marine insurance disputes and charter party disputes, etc. She has been selected by Guangzhou Lawyer Association into its first “Talent Pool of Leading Lawyers in Foreign-related Matters”.
