On 30th November 2002, Vessel A collided with Vessel B in the vicinity of Anchorage S16 of Ling Ding water area, resulting in sinking of Vessel B together with all the containers onboard. After payment, the foreign underwriter gained subrogation to lodge claim against the ship owner of Vessel A, the ship owner of Vessel B and the foreign carrier. Our Mr. Huang Hui handled this case on behalf of the ship owner of Vessel B. Under the circumstances that all the points for defence of the case are effectively supported and acknowledged, Guangzhou Maritime Court in the first instance and Guangdong Provincial High People’s Court in the second instance both discharged the ship owner of Vessel B from compensation liability. |
