In January of 1999, damage to steel-rolling equipments was found on board of A Vessel at the port of discharge, which was owned by a big international shipping company. After indemnifying the loss, the cargo insurer lodged a lawsuit at Guangzhou Maritime Court demanding compensation in the approximate amount of USD 600,000 from the shipping company. Mr. Huang Yaquan handled the case for and on behalf of the shipping company, and his efforts brought about a satisfying result for the shipping company and its P&I Club that the claimant agreed to accept 30% of the claim amount as the full and final settlement of the case. |
