Huang Hui invited to address in the meeting between Guangzhou Arbitration Commission and Vietnam-China International Trade Arbitration Center

On 24 June, Guangzhou Arbitration Commission (“GZAC”) and Vietnam-China International Trade Arbitration Center (“VCITAC”) successfully held, in hybrid mode, the “Cross-border Commercial Dispute Resolution Practice and Legal Cooperation” seminar and signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote arbitration services and economic, trade and cultural exchanges. GZAC’s deputy director Mr. Wang Tianxi, VCITAC’s president Mr. Bùi Trung Kiên and arbitrators including Dr. Hoàng Ngọc Giao and Nguyễn Ngọc Tuyên, and GZAC arbitrators including our managing partner Huang Hui were in attendance and made speeches.

Huang Hui delivered an English speech titled “The Development of Collaboration among Arbitration Institutions in China: Mutual Recommendation and Recognition of Arbitrators” where he explored the problems created by conflicts of interest of arbitrators in modern commercial arbitration, summarized the development of the arbitrator sharing and mutual referral mechanism in China and analyzed the impact of such mechanism on tackling  the problems created by conflicts of interest of arbitrators, improving the credibility of Chinese arbitration and promoting the development of Chinese arbitration.

Following the seminar, GZAC’s deputy director Mr. Wang Tianxi, VCITAC’s president Mr. Bùi Trung Kiên signed the Memorandum of Understanding, whereby GZAC further promotes one-stop online arbitration services and the “Guangzhou Mode” of international commercial arbitration to the Asia-Pacific region.
